Dj Cyrax

THE MUSIC MESSIAH

When the question is asked, who is the most talented and vibrant upcoming Selecta in dancehall today whether local or aboard, without a shadow of a doubt Dj Cyrax stand tall above the rest. Dj Cyrax was discovered in rural Saint James, Jamaica, in a small community called Windsor Lodge next door to Somerton just around 1994. Dj Cyrax was only 14 years old at time when he started to play his father sound system which was called MI-1 at the time. He quickly masters the art of an MC and his vibe with microphone was adored by many. However his heart lies with selecting and he quickly turn his attention to just that. Dj Cyrax popularity grew from his Friday night parties and his appearance at nine nights. Dj Cyrax was also known for completing against other sound system thence earning the name THE UNDERTAKER.
However school was a major factor for him and balancing the two was virtually impossible so he went under ground for awhile. After completing high school in 1999 he started what was known to the community as GOODAZ held on Fridays at the community centre. This project gain stardom and Dj Cyrax was back on the seen with his eyes set on the big picture (playing with the big guns). In order for the dream to materialize he needed to gain the love of the big city Montego Bay and the entire Jamaica alike. As his project grew he decided to change the name of the sound to CYRAX SUPERSONIC. While stardom seems inevitable, bigger and better competition came. Black Hawk the area number one (1) sound system at the time felt the heat and challenge Cyrax to a best 5 series. Cyrax lost the first two, but never gave up. In the third face off he was consider the underdog as he was out played in the first two clashes, but Cyrax found the missing ingredient and gains the victory. Cyrax went on to win the other two clashes and was crowned area champion. This brought challenges from near and far. It also brought popularity to the Dj. Even though Cyrax didn’t win all the clashes they faces, they were a force to recon with and was consider a rural Saint James giant.
In 2002, Dj Cyrax played its first long-sides with one of the big guns (Jah Creations) and it’s first out of parish dance in Trelawny. In the very same year the sound played in two other parish Hanover and Saint Elizabeth. The thousands that showed up in Jack Fruit Tree Lawn witness Cyrax murdered three of their finest sound system on Christmas Eve and won their hearts over. This was only the begin of what to come. Cyrax went on to play along-side some Jamaica’s finest, biggest and the best, which includes Stone Love, Killaman Jaro, Body Guard, Bass Obessey, Black Kat, Tony Matterhorn, Ras & Biggy, Sunshine, Dj Liquid, Fire Linkz, Cash Money, Etc Etc…..In 2003 Dj Cyrax went club dj’ing and was flavored for its street style and ghetto flow. With this added to its portfolio, Cyrax was playing places like Pier 1, Club Garage, Roof Top, Amnesia, Quad, etc etc..
By the end of 2004 Cyrax had being to all 14 parishes and 4 Caribbean islands which includes Trinidad, Barbados, Grand Cayman & Barbuda.
In 2005, Dj Cyrax moved to Florida in United States of America, where he continues playing in the club in and around the palm beaches. In 2006 he played on WEWN FM for 6 months, with a history like this, in the business, Cyrax is still one of the most faired selectors out there.....Cyrax Supersonic (THE MUSIC MESSIAH).
